A memorial service will be held on December 12, 2015 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Wilma Irene was the first-born child to Henry J and Golda L Busacker. She was born at the family homestead in Dalton, Nebraska on October 12, 1923. She attended school in Sidney and Scottsbluff where she graduated in 1942. Wilma married Marvin F. Blankenship in June of 1943 at Camp Blanding, Florida. He was killed in action in France during WWII. She married Kenneth C. Weis in June 1946 and he preceded her in death. Wilma’s career was spent in the banking business, first at Gering National and then at other area banks, after its closure. She had a personal challenge and goal of providing the best service possible to her clients. It was important to her to try to memorize each client’s account number, so she wouldn’t have to bother them by asking each time they came to her window. That was long before the days of technology. Wilma was a member of BPOE Does, Red Hat Society, a Bible study group and several card clubs. In earlier days, she loved bowling, fishing, camping and snow skiing. Spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, planting and caring for her flowers, casino trips and trips to the mountains were always special and happy times for Wilma. Wilma made her home at Northfield Villa Vista for the past 12 years. Wilma was preceded in death by her son, David Weis, parents, Henry and Golda Busacker, brother, Warren Busacker, sisters, Alta Dickinson and Evelyn Muhr. Wilma will be remembered for her love of family, generosity and like her mother, Golda, for her beautiful smile.
