Description	:	Wilma Jean Lynott Wilma Jean "Jean" Lynott, 81, of Sioux City, formerly of Hawarden, died peacefully in her sleep, with family be her side, from complications of diabetes on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Sunrise Retirement Center in Sioux City. Wilma Jean Lynott was born July 11, 1926, in Perry, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Walters) Bender. She graduated from Perry High School in 1943. Following graduation she worked for the F.B.I. in the fingerprint division in Washington, D.C. and later at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Wilma Jean Lynott was born July 11, 1926, in Perry, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Walters) Bender. She graduated from Perry High School in 1943. Following graduation she worked for the F.B.I. in the fingerprint division in Washington, D.C. and later at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Robert E. Lynott, Jr. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Granger. They lived in Rock Valley, before moving to the family farm near Hawarden, in 1949. In 1972 they purchased the International Harvester Farm Equipment dealership where she was a bookkeeper until retirement. Known as Lynott Implement, Inc. the business remains in the family. Her husband Robert died on May 19, 1996. Jean was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden, the St. Mary's Guild, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by five sons, Robert III, James, Gregory, and Michael, all of Hawarden and John Paul of Sioux City; one daughter, Patrice Bottjen of Remsen; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Melba; and grandson, Brian Lynott. Private Family Mass of Resurrection will be on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Roger Linnan and the Rev. Bill McCarthy concelebrating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Public visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
