Description	:	Wilma J. Havel, age 96, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Clarence Nursing Home in Clarence. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Private family funeral services will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Havel, age 96, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Clarence Nursing Home in Clarence. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Wilma Jean Workman was born January 28, 1924, in Lisbon, the daughter of Reed and Pearl (Lehr) Workman and grew up on the family farm near Stanwood. She attended business college in Cedar Rapids and then was employed at the AAA office in Tipton for three years, then worked at Farm Bureau. She married Leon Henry Havel on June 18, 1949, in Stanwood. Together they farmed near Mechanicsville for many years, until they retired and moved to Stanwood. Leon preceded her in death on October 24, 2001. She later became a resident of the Clarence Nursing Home. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and fishing. She was the glue that held her family together and it was her family that she loved so dearly. Surviving are two daughters, Kaylene (Alan) Jenkins of Brighton, CO, and Karen (Mark) Bunge of Parker, CO; two sons, Larry Havel of Clarence and Randy (Cathi) Havel of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter-in-law, Kerri Havel, two brothers, LaVerne Workman and Myron Workman and one niece, Debra Sickels.
