Description	:	Wilma June Kempers, 70, of Sioux Center, IA died Saturday, February 22, 2008 at Sheldon Sanford Senior Care. A memorial service was Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. Kempers was born June 28, 1937, a mile east of Sioux Center to James and Dora (Ter Haar) Kempers. She and her two sisters attended Sioux Center Elementary School and went on to graduate from Sioux Center High School. While growing up she studied music. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and played the trumpet in band while in high school. As a young woman she began working in Sioux Center and eventually took a position with First National Bank, where she worked for nearly 40 years until her retirement in 1999. Throughout her lifetime she was an active member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center where she was a member of Rebecca Circle. Survivors are her sister, Berdena Kempers of Sioux Center; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Johanna Kempers.
