Description	:	Wilma L. Martens passed away at Legacy Hospital in Vancouver, Washington on February 28, 2012, after falling and breaking her hip, a month short of her 98th birthday. Wilma was born to Mabel and Charles Brothers on April 2, 1914, at the Brothers Sawmill, on Mason Creek, in the Bee Tree area of Clark County, Washington. She married Tom Meyers on April 15, 1933, who passed away in 1974. She later married Robert Martens, who has also passed away. Martens passed away at Legacy Hospital in Vancouver, Washington on February 28, 2012, after falling and breaking her hip, a month short of her 98th birthday. Wilma was born to Mabel and Charles Brothers on April 2, 1914, at the Brothers Sawmill, on Mason Creek, in the Bee Tree area of Clark County, Washington. She married Tom Meyers on April 15, 1933, who passed away in 1974. She later married Robert Martens, who has also passed away. Soon after Wilma and Tom Meyers married, they purchased a 20 acre parcel north of Battle Ground which served as her prime residence until her passing. For a few years they resided in Seaside, Newport, and Toldedo, all in Oregon, while following the logging industry, then returned to the Battle Ground, Washington property. Wilma worked as a grocery clerk. Wilma was an avid gardener of flowers and produce in the summer, growing, cooking, and canning much of what she produced. Wilma was known not only as a great cook, but also for her knitting skills. She produced a variety of afghans, slippers, hats and pot holders for family and friends. She will be remembered as a great mom who loved her family deeply, and her family loved her very much. She had many friends in her lifetime. Wilma is survived by son Vern Meyers (Carol), daughter Judi Huff (Lee), grandsons Tim Meyers and Gary Maze, granddaughters Debbie Hogevolla and Lori Maze, great-grandsons Nick and Brady, great-granddaughters Shanna and Channel and also is survived by four great-great grandsons. Wilma was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom Meyers and Robert martens, her sister Jeanette and brother Jake. There was a graveside service on April 2, 2012 at Lewisville Cemetery in Battle Ground, Washington. Published in The Reflector, March 28, 2012, Battle Ground, WA.
