Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty with the Rev. Betsey Neipert officiating. Burial will be in the North Prairie Cemetery, West Liberty. Mrs. Nealson was born on March 7, 1916, in Downey, the daughter of Adam and Mina Dolwig Roth. She married Howard Nealson on March 11, 1939, in Muscatine. She was a 1934 graduate of West Liberty High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught country school at Goshen No. 3 for three years. She was employed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a supervisor in the sewing department until her retirement. The couple lived on the farm until 1973 when they moved to West Liberty. She moved to the Cookson Home in July 2001, where she enjoyed her time there and most recently, resided at Crestview Care Center. She was a member of the Danish Brotherhood, Pythian Sisters, Silver Stirrup Saddle Club, North Prairie Social Club and attended the Happy Hour meal site. She is survived by two sons, Gary Nealson and wife Connie of West Liberty and David Nealson and wife Judie of Iowa City; one daughter, Georgia Nealson, of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Kreid, of New Braunsfels, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; sister, Minnie Grathwohl; brothers, Adam Roth, Lawrence Roth and William Roth.
