Wilma and James are the parents of: Delores James ****** After James passed away Wilma married Henry De Wild on August 8, 1972 in Hull, Iowa. ****** Oolman Funeral Home; September 1, 2011 Mrs. Wilma De Wild, age 86, of Hull, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 3, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Interment will be at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Wilma was born on October 15, 1924, in Hull, the daughter of Robert and Theodora (Rodenburgh) Vander Werff. She was raised in the Hull area, where she attended country schools and graduated from the Sioux Center High School. On June 30, 1944, she married James Jansma at Hull. They farmed near Doon. Jim passed away on April 14, 1970, at Doon. On August 8, 1972, she married Henry De Wild at Hull. They farmed south of Hull until December of 1983, when they retired into Hull. Henry passed away on January 27, 1985 in Sheldon. Wilma was a school teacher for many years. She began teaching right out of high school in local country schools. After her two children were school age, she returned to teaching in a country school near Doon. She also taught at Christian schools in Rock Valley, Rock Rapids, and Sibley, and for the last 36 years she was at the Hull Christian School. She loved teaching and both she and her students enjoyed recess, where she was the regular softball pitcher, usually breaking a pair of her glasses each year. After retirement, she worked part-time at Siouxland Floral and the Foreign Candy Company, both in Hull. Mrs. De Wild was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening on the farm and embroidering towel sets for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. In later years, she also liked working crossword puzzles with her good friend, Dale Kraai, and she appreciated sharing fellowship and a cup of tea with her neighbors, Peter and Betsy De Yager. Survivors include her daughter, Delores; her son, James; 8 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Tena; Grace and Theodora, Esther and Roberta; a brother John, and two sisters-in-law, Gertrude and Stephena. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Cornie Vander Werff; a sister, Ella (Albert) Juffer; and brothers-in-law, William Pollema and Cornie Hartog.
