Description	:	Wilma Morast, 78, of Zap, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah with Pastor T. Marcis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Wittenburg Cemetery, rural Zap. Wilma was born on December 6, 1935 to Herman and Emma (Weigum) Walz on the family farm, north of Beulah. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John's Wittenburg Church, north of Zap. Wilma married Walter Morast on January 1, 1956 and the couple made their home on a farm nine miles north of Zap. Wilma was very active on the farm. She helped run machinery, tended to everyday farming needs and took care of the animals. Wilma loved to raise chickens and sell eggs. She would deliver them to people's homes, churches and the Zap School. Even after Wilma and Walter sold their herd of milk cows, Wilma had one Guernsey cow that she would milk for making cottage cheese and cream. Wilma loved to play the organ and the piano. She served as the organist at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Zap for over 30 years. She was also the pianist for the Germans from Russia Singers. Wilma was a very talented seamstress including sewing bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Wilma's grandchildren were very important to her. She loved to spend time with them and created many wonderful memories during their time together. Her playful spirit always came through during her grandchildren's many visits to the farm. Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Walter; two daughters, Vickie (Gregg) Batroot and Vonnie (Neal) Reinhardt; one son, Veryl Morast; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel Eisenbeis, Betty Unruh and Eunice Christmann; and one brother, Duane (Karen) Walz. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Valerie Morast-Johnson; two sisters, Alice Walz and Ardella Fischer; and one brother, Leon Walz.
