Read More	Here is his obituary, from the 19 Jul 1986 edition of the "Lincoln Sentinel-Republican": Wilmer John Thaemert Wilmer John Thaemert was born Sept. 1, 1922, on a farm south of Sylvan Grove. On Nov. 27, 1947, Wilmer was joined in holy wedlock with Neoma M. Meier of Lincoln, and together they brought up two sons, Steven and John, on the same farm where Wilmer was born and raised. On the morning of July 8, 1986, at the age of 63, Wilmer passed into the loving arms of his Savior. Wilmer Thaemert was a man of deep religious convictions, committing much of his time to serving the Lord as a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he served as Elder and school board member, along with many other positions. He was also a diligent and dedicated farmer, a fact made evident by his always well-tended fields, bountiful crops and soil conservation practices. He was a true steward of the soil who cared for the land as few people do. He was an avid amateur radio operator and member of the Amateur Radio Relay League. He is survived by his wife, Neoma; son and daughter-in-law John and Shelley of Sylvan Grove, son Steve of Olathe and granddaughter Katherine; and two brothers, Hubert of Arvada, Colo., and Leonard of Robindale, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. July 11 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery in Sylvan Grove.
