Description	:	Wilmer Meske, 80, Bismarck, died January 24, 2013, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Lester Wolfgram officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, February 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Read More	Wilmer Meske, 80, Bismarck, died January 24, 2013, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Rev. Lester Wolfgram officiating. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Wilmer was born September 30, 1932, in Zap, ND, to Albert and Minnie (Kind) Meske. He was raised and educated in Zap, North Dakota. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954 in Germany and France. On November 12, 1954, he married Marion Hoffmann. From 1954 to 1957 he worked for Northern Pacific Railroad as a bridge crew carpenter. They moved to Bismarck in 1957 and from 1959 – 1962 owned and operated a Texaco service station. Finally, until retirement in 1999, Wilmer worked 34 years as a machinist for Hedahl's Inc. of Bismarck. Wilmer was a charter member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Bismarck. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, playing cards, and square dancing. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Wilmer is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion, of Bismarck; daughter, Carla (Dwight) Schmitke; son, Greg (Libby) Meske; four grandchildren, Jody (Greg) Hobbs, Alexander, Nicholas, and Kathryn Meske; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kali Hobbs, all of Denver, CO; one sister, Lorraine Quast, Beulah, ND; one sister-in-law, Mardella Meske, Mandan, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilmer was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie; three brothers, Alfred, Elmer, Harold; and one sister, Viola Navratil. The family would like to thank the staff at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, North Central for the care given to Wilmer during his 2 week stay, as well as St. Alexius Hospice.
