| Description | : | Lieutenant Wilson Glover served during World War II with the 17th Pursuit Squadron. The 17th was initially part of Far East Air Force and took part in the Battle of the Philippines, 1941 to 1942. However, most of its aircraft were destroyed on the ground by invading Imperial Japanese air raids. Some 17th PS personnel later fought as infantry until compelled to surrender. Lt. Glover was taken captive at Mindanao. Later, he was being transported on one of the Japanese "Hell Ships" when it was sunk; he survived.
