Description	:	Wilson H. Carr, Sr., 85, of Athens, died Thursday morning, February 26, 2009 at Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown. Born May 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Wilson H. and Elizabeth E. Steele Carr. He was a graduate of Shade High School and retired from Columbus Southern Power Company. Wilson was a US Army Veteran of WWI. He was a member and past commander of the Athens American Legion, Post 21 and a member of the New Marshfield VFW. Carr, Sr., 85, of Athens, died Thursday morning, February 26, 2009 at Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown. Born May 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Wilson H. and Elizabeth E. Steele Carr. He was a graduate of Shade High School and retired from Columbus Southern Power Company. Wilson was a US Army Veteran of WWI. He was a member and past commander of the Athens American Legion, Post 21 and a member of the New Marshfield VFW. He was also a past Master of the New Marshfield Constitution Lodge 426, and a member of the Athens County Shrine Club, the Aladdin Shrine Club in Columbus, and Athens Elks Lodge 973. He is survived by a son, Wilson H. (Lynn) Carr, Jr., of Athens; two grandchildren, Josie Carr, and Curtis Hyatt; a sister, Nancy Imm of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jean Carr; a daughter, Norma Elaine McCune, and a sister, Marion Bricker.
