He was born in Ohio in 1839 and came to Marion with his parents at the age of 12. He was married to Mary J. Cooper and two children were born to them. He was born in Ohio in 1839 and came to Marion with his parents at the age of 12. He was married to Mary J. Cooper and two children were born to them. Mrs. Paul Michel, of Marion and Mrs. Frank Mentzer, Alfred Station, N.Y. Mrs. Certain died eight years ago. The two daughters with two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. Mr. Certain farmed until about thirty-five years ago when he came to Marion and was employed for a time with a bridge gang by the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad company. In recent years he has been janitor at the passenger station and at St. Joseph's Catholic church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pingrey chapel. The Rev. Frank Ward of Cedar Rapids will be in charge and burial will be made in Oak Shade cemetery. Thursday February 7, 1924 The Marion Weekly Sentinel Certain Funeral Held The funeral services of Wilson Certain were held at the Pingrey chapel on Wednesday morning at ten-thirty and were in charge of Rev. Frank Ward. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
