Born on November 8, 1941, in Cambridge, New York, he was the son of Chauncey M. and Beatrice F. (Needham) Ward. "Pinner" Ward, 73, of Moreau and a former resident of Fort Ann, died Saturday, July 11, 2015. Born on November 8, 1941, in Cambridge, New York, he was the son of Chauncey M. and Beatrice F. (Needham) Ward. He grew up on the family farm on Bull Hill in Hartford Township and was a 1959 graduate of Hartford Central School. He completed studies at Albany Business College. In addition to working on the family farm after college, he was employed by the Glens Falls Insurance Co. and the Middletown Creamery in Fort Edward. Shortly thereafter, he worked with the NYS Department of Transportation Resident Engineers Field Office at Burgoyne Avenue in Kingsbury. He was assigned to the sign crew, shop stock clerk and retired as general foreman of the paint crew spanning several counties. He retired after 32 years of service. He was a past member of Saratoga Springs Eagles Club and was a member of the Fort Ann Mount Hope-Phoenix Masonic Lodge #76. He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, David B. Ward and F. Sinclair Ward. He is survived by his two sons, a sister, a brother and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven. Burial will follow at the family lot at Poultney Cemetery in Poultney. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (prior to the service) at the funeral home. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. .
