Description	:	WINIFRED "WINX" EVELYN (ATTEBERRY) WHINERY February 25, 1921 ~ November 18, 2012 Winifred "Winx" Whinery passed away peacefully at home with family nearby on November 18, 2012. She was born on a farm near Whitten, Iowa on February 25, 1921 to Lawrence and Winnie Atteberry. Winx graduated from Union High School in 1938 and immediately eloped with the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Larry. Read More	WINIFRED "WINX" EVELYN (ATTEBERRY) WHINERY February 25, 1921 ~ November 18, 2012 Winifred "Winx" Whinery passed away peacefully at home with family nearby on November 18, 2012. She was born on a farm near Whitten, Iowa on February 25, 1921 to Lawrence and Winnie Atteberry. Winx graduated from Union High School in 1938 and immediately eloped with the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Larry. After living in Iowa, San Diego, California and Key West, Florida while Larry was in the Navy, they relocated to Los Alamos, New Mexico, with their two small children. Larry's work took them to Richland, Washington in 1965, where Winx was active in golf, volunteering at her children's school activities, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Tri-Cities County Club, and Central United Protestant Church. As her health declined, her daughter invited her to move to Vancouver, Washington and live with their family, where she stayed and was adored til her death. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hadenfeld; son-in-law, Marc; daughter-in-law, Judy Fontaine; grandchildren, Alexis, Scott, Lauren, Kyle, and Dan; Lexy and Scott's spouses, Ben and Christi; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Haden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Winifred Atteberry; sisters, Lucille, Dory, and Phyllis; husband, Larry; and son, Daniel. A celebration of her life was held on December 8th, 2012 at her home in Vancouver, Washington. Her ashes will be laid to rest with Larry in Union, Iowa. A memorial donation may be made to the Arc of Tri Cities or the ASPCA. Published in The Columbian, Vancouver, WA on December 2, 2012
