Description	:	WINIFRED MOREHEAD Winifred Morehead, 93, of LeMars, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars. Winifred Morehead was born April 4, 1907, at Akron, the daughter of Bert and Mary (Faust) Hoffman. She attended country school in the Akron area. On April 26, 1926, she married Vernon Morehead at the Adaville United Methodist Church. The couple farmed near Westfield for many years. They moved to LeMars and Winifred worked at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center for many years. She became a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center on April 10, 1995. They moved to LeMars and Winifred worked at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center for many years. She became a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center on April 10, 1995. Winifred enjoyed needlework, baking, gardening and spending time with her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Arlene Van Voorst, of Seney; a son Arvel Morehead and his wife, Ramona, of LeMars; grandchildren Dale, Ron, Allan and Kenneth Van Voorst, Cheryl Quintero, Marty Morehead, Roxane Anderson, Darla Schultz and Diane Evanovick; great-grandchildren Christina, Corrine and Calla, Becky, Annie, Teresa, Joshua, James, Josh, Jeremiah, Lindsey, Kory, Lauren, Nathan, Steven, Jeremiah, Adam, Brent and Jarrit; great great-grandchildren Benjamin and Michaela; and two sisters, Margaret Heyl and Neva Lewis, both of LeMars. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Verna; a son, Dwight; a son-in-law, John Van Voorst; a sister Rose Welter; and seven brothers, Cleo, John, Delbert, Bernard, Charles, Maynard, and James. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with the Rev. Tom C. Shinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, rural LeMars. Visitation will be today (Thursday) after 2 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
