Read More	Winifred Bell 1894 - 1949 The Renwick Times, Renwick, Iowa Thursday June 9, 1949 Mrs. George Bell Died Suddenly Wednesday, June 1 This community was shocked and deeply saddened last Wednesday by the death of Mrs. George Bell. Mrs. Bell had undergone an operation recently but had recovered and was feeling fine when she died suddenly last Wednesday afternoon. Winifred McGowan Bell, daughter of James and Jessie McGowan, was born at Goldfield, Iowa, March 11, 1894, one of a family of twelve children, and passed away June 1st, 1949. She was a graduate of the Renwick Public School and continued this education for a short time at Iowa State College at Ames, Iowa. On October 28, 1913, she was united to George Bell at the home of her parents south of Renwick. They were blessed by the birth of two sons, they having preceded her in death, Jimmie at the age of 15 and Gordon at the age of 26. At an early age she became a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield. After her marriage she transferred her membership to the Methodist Church of Renwick to which she was faithful until her death. She was a member of the Gertrude Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a Women's Society of Christian Services, to the Society she gave her sincere and untiring service. Although her life was accompanied by sad occurrences she was of a kindly, pleasant disposition, a good neighbor and a devoted wife and mother. Her life was in keeping with these words, "what you keep is lost, what you give away is forever yours." Those who remain to mourn her loss are her husband, four sisters, Mrs. Braden Stoakes and Mrs. Rudy Amosson of Goldfield. Mrs. Guy Petersen of Dows and Mrs. Jesse Helmke of Renwick; five brothers, James McGowan and Will McGowan, both of Goldfield; Robert McGowan, Arlo McGowan and Donald McGowan, all of Renwick; other relatives and a host of friends. We'll not forget her. We who state to work a little longer here. Her name, her face, her love, share live. On Memory's tablet bright and clear. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, June 5th at the home at 1:30 and at the Methodist Church at two o'clock with Rev. C. E. Custer in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet consisting of Mrs. C. A. Richardson, Mrs. Wm. Blesie, T. W. Gimer and Robert Johnson who sang "Face To Face" and "Peace, Sweet Peace." Mrs. Harl Gimer accompanied at the organ. Pallbearers were Omar Davis, Raymond Gorrell, Chas. Scott, John French, George Latch, and Dr. W. H. Long. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Beenen Funeral Service. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Overbaugh of Los Angeles, California; J. W. Young, Harlod Young, Jimmie Young, all of Traer; Miss Marian Young of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert McMillan, Frank Early, Ralph Crawford, Art McCutcheon, all of Traer; Mrs. Ed Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mitchell, and Mrs. Kate Miller, all of Reinbeck; Mrs. Will Simonsen of Hudson, Iowa; John McGowan, Mr and Mrs. Raymond Logge, and Mrs. Raynard Seimens, all of Gladbrook, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. R. B. McGowan of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lutz and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Malherak of Granada, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Fleming of Storm Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Les Reiter, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bradley of Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Anderson of Elmore, Minn; Mr. and Mrs. K.L. Collis and Larry and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. McDermott of Lohrville; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanson, Mrs. Fred Duncan and Leyton Hansen, all of Fort Dodge, Ia.; Mrs. Will Christenson off Dayton, Ohio; C. H.
