Marion, 95, of El Dorado, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a sudden illness. Born on April 12, 1919, in the Hopewell Community, she was the daughter of Milton T. and Lizzie Powledge Owens. A homemaker, Winnie was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester A. "Gump" Marion; a son and daughter-in-law, W.F. Marion and Maxine Marion Golden; and five brothers, Fred M. Owens, Eric W. Owens, James A. Owens, John L. Owens, and Aubrey Owens. Survivors are a son, Don Marion (Jo Ella) of Houston; a brother, Harvey Owens (Dorothy) of El Dorado; and sisters-in-law, Claudine Owens and Carole Owens of El Dorado. Also surviving are grandchildren Gail Oakley, Janet Hunt, Cheryl LeMaire, Donnie Marion, and Robert Marion; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Parkview Baptist Church. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Parkview Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Overton and the Rev. Tommy Mellinger officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 608 W.
