She may have fibbed about her age because she was so young when she married. Family believes she was Native American, but I have no records to support that. Winnie and Everette had 10 children. 7 of the 10 lived to be adults. Winnie and Everette lived off the land at the head of a hollow near Griffithsville, WV.
