Read More	Anamosa Eureka - Sept. 6, 1934 spouse of 76400122 Lewis Anderson Bevans Winafred Ann Boxwell, daughter of John and Amelia Larned Boxwell, of the states of Maryland and Virginia respectively, was born in Peoria county, Illinois, May 18, 1849, and departed this earthly life August 29, 1934, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 11 days. She was the last of her father's family of nine children. At the early age of nine years she was left an orphan and so experienced all the hardships and loneliness of such a life. She was united in marriage with Lewis A. Bevans in 1869. Mr. Bevans passed on in 1905. Four children were born to this union. After reaching manhood and young womanhood, Fernandes the son and Pearl the youngest daughter preceded their mother in death. The two daughters, Adella of Anamosa and Sue of Los Angeles, Calif., remain to grieve for the separation from a most loving, devoted mother. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. & Mrs. Bevans moved to a farm near Morning Sun, Iowa, where they lived until they moved to Anamosa in 1886... Mrs. Bevans was a ardent lover of nature, especially of flowers and birds. These last years with more leisure from household cares, she has found happy companionship with the birds for whom she provided food and water daily... Burial was in the Riverside cemetery, Anamosa, Iowa
