Delano and Miss Ethel Lee were married Sunday evening, Sept. 24, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Lee, at Lee Siding, Rev. Geo. H. Newman officiating. Joe Brakebill was best man and Miss Rosa Lee, sister of the bride was bridesmaid. The wedding march was played by Miss Carrie Waldrop. The bridge was born in Whitman County and raised on the farm of her father, who is one of the large and successful farmers of this county. The groom was born in Oregon, but for the last few years has been farming in this county. There was a large company of friends and neighbors present, who left many tokens of their good will. One of the presents highly appreciated by the guests was the gift of a large assortment of beautiful fruit and flowers by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fowler. The home was beautifully decorated and the wedding supper bountiful, as on similar occasions Mr. and Mrs. Lee have taught their guests to expect. The young people will soon go to housekeeping on the farm of Henry Rock near Diamond. Their many friends are glad that they are to remain in the neighborhood. Delano, 76-year-old farmer of the Hooper District, who died Monday night in Colfax Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. The Rev. Russell O. Booher will officiate. Born at West Union, Oregon, Mrs. Delano farmed at Hooper for more than 50 years. His affiliations included the Presbyterian Church and the Grange. He and his surviving widow, Ethel Lee Delano, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Labor Day, September 5. Spokane Chronicle, September 21, 1955
