Description	:	Woodford enlisted in the United States Army, Company K, Regiment of Engineers, on July 28, 1861 to serve three years. He was discharged from the service on January 3, 1864 at Nashville, TN. He reenlisted in Company A, on the following day, serving three years; he was in the engagement at Gettysburg, and was with Sherman on his march to the Sea, and many skirmishes. He made a good record, and was honorably discharged from the service on July 22, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky. He was a man of excellent character, and good habits, being careful not to... He made a good record, and was honorably discharged from the service on July 22, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky. He was a man of excellent character, and good habits, being careful not to abuse the body God had given him for the temple of his soul, and as a reward for the care was enabled to live to the ripe old age of eighty-nine years. He died full of years, full of faith, and highly respected in a community, in which he had spent most of his life. He was a member of the Gen. Leander Post G.A.R. and when health permitted took an active interest in Post affairs, and was present at the annual gatherings of the veterans. Hes life stands out as a monument of patriotic devotion. He married Mary E. Marlow of Quaker City, on February 15, 1866. In addition to her he was preceded in death by his son, Emmett Wright, and daughter, Margaret Wright. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mrs. Wilmer Hall, Mrs. R.C. Cowgill, Mrs. Milton Hall, Mrs. John Griffin, and Harry Wright; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren.
