Johnson, Publisher): The bodies of Miss Alma and Woodrow Russell, who were killed by the tornado in Strong Monday afternoon, while in their father's restaurant, were brought to Huttig Tuesday night where they had been taken for embalming, and laid to rest in Harper Springs Cemetery Wednesday afternoon, following a very impressive funeral service held in the Baptist Church. This solemn ceremony, conducted by Rev. D. W. Bolton, pastor of the Baptist Church, and Rev. T. D. Spruce, pastor of the Methodist Church, was witnessed by some five hundred sorrowing friends, besides the bereaved family and other relatives. The most beautiful and expressive floral offerings were in evidence. The entire citizenry of Huttig and community were terribly shocked and grieved to learn of the death of these two young people. Along with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Russell, who had recently moved from here to Strong, where Mr. Russell had engaged in business. These dear young people, both members of the Baptist Sunday School of this place, and Miss Alma a member of the church, numbered their friends here by the population, and it is with grievous hearts that we humbly bow to the will of the Divine Creator, to whom we most devoutly pray, that the bereaved parents, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends may be consoled and strengthened in their hour of grief and sadness. The entire plant of the Union Sawmill Company was closed down after 12:00 o'clock and school was dismissed to allow everyone to attend the services.
