Born October 26, 1952 in Florence, he was the son of Estelle Matthews Hartfield and the late Wylie Eugene Hartfield, Sr. Mr. Hartfield was a hard worker who was dedicated to his family as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and granddaddy. He never met a stranger and was always kind and willing to help and support others. He loved life and always had a joke to share. His hobbies included fishing, playing guitar, and traveling. Born October 26, 1952 in Florence, he was the son of Estelle Matthews Hartfield and the late Wylie Eugene Hartfield, Sr. Mr. Hartfield was a hard worker who was dedicated to his family as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and granddaddy. He never met a stranger and was always kind and willing to help and support others. He loved life and always had a joke to share. His hobbies included fishing, playing guitar, and traveling. He always enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. Prior to retirement, Mr. Hartfield was a long distance truck driver and a carpenter. Along with his mother of Johnsonville, he is survived by his wife, Gloria Wimberly Hartfield of Aynor; two daughters, Kimberly Lorraine Hartfield of Aynor and Wendy Renee Howell (John Marc) of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Trevor Blake Hartfield, Sean Howell, and Lauren Howell; a great grandson, Brantley James Hartfield; two brothers, David Hartfield (Sherry) and family of Columbia and Dan Hartfield and family of Johnsonville; a sister, Eve Simcic and family of Johnsonville; two brothers-in-law, Eddie Wimberly (Donna) and family and Jimmy Wimberly (Karen) and family; and a sister in law, Saundra Miles (Alton) and family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Steve Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
