Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Frances Smith Hamrick and was the son of the late Lyman Abbott Hamrick and Catherine Pace Hamrick. Mr. Hamrick was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was a 1950 graduate of Clemson University and was Chairman of the Board of Hamrick Mills. Limestone Street, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his residence at Summitt Hills in Spartanburg. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Frances Smith Hamrick and was the son of the late Lyman Abbott Hamrick and Catherine Pace Hamrick. Mr. Hamrick was a graduate of Gaffney High School, was a 1950 graduate of Clemson University and was Chairman of the Board of Hamrick Mills. Mr. Hamrick was a Rotarian, was a member of the Crustbreakers, was a member of the Beattie-Watts-Stevens Outing, was a member of the Linthead Group and was a member of First Baptist Church where he was formerly Chairman of Deacons. He was also past chairman of the Fullerton Foundation, past chairman of the Hamrick Mills Foundation and past chairman of Trustees of Limestone College. Surviving are three sons, Lyman Hamrick and wife, Lee, and Wardlaw Hamrick and wife, Gail, all of Gaffney, and Robert Hamrick, Sr. of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren, Elliott Hamrick and wife, Katie, Sarah Hamrick, Catherine Hampton and husband, Kevin, Cameron Hamrick and wife, Brooke, Dr. Addison Hamrick, Robert Hamrick, Jr. and wife, Angel and Travis Hamrick; five great-grandchildren, Patrick Hampton, Peyton Hampton, Paxton Hampton, Nick Hamrick and Torie Hamrick. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Hamrick Beattie. August 24, 2012 at Entombment in Oakland Cemetery.
