Read More	Zach Berry Obit Zach Berry died in Seward at an early hour Sunday morning, after a severe illness of a few weeks duration. Only eight weeks before his wife had passed away, and the loss of his companion had weighed heavily upon his mind, so that when his own illness came on he was in no condition to cope with it. His death occasioned sorrow among a large circle of friends, by whom he was held in high regard. He was a man of strong convictions and friendships, and was ever willing to render assistance to those who came to him with an appeal for aid. At the time the independent telephone company was organized he became the county manager, and helped install the system in the county. The deceased was born in Knox county, IL, July 17, 1870, and was therefore 43 years, 9 months and 16 days of age at the time of his death. He had come with his father's family to Seward county in 1883, and this had been his borne ever since. In 1896 he was married to Miss Katheran Pigeon of N precinct, who died in April, 1901. To them was born one son. In the fall of 1912 Mr. Berry was married to Miss Emma Taege of Seward, who died on March 7th of the present year. Funeral services over the remains of Mr. Berry were held at the home in Seward at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. E. Ludwick of the Congregational church. Interment was made in the family lot in the north cemetery. The deceased is survived by his son, Walter Gerald Berry, and five brothers and three sisters. The son, now left an orphan, will make his home with his uncle, Walter Berry of Waco. Those from a distance to attend the funeral were Walter Berry and family of Waco, Wilson Berry and family of Beaver Crossing, Jaisz Berry and J. Swallow "of Lexington, Mr, and Mrs. L. A. Brown of Lincoln, Mrs. J. J. Dunnegan of Shenandoah, IA, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Streams, Mrs. C. Streams, J. G. and A. C, Streams of Waco.
