Her twin sister Velma was born 20 minutes ahead of her. Zelma died Wednesday, June 7, 1995 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver. Zelma and her family moved to the western Nebraska and eastern Colorado area in 1927. Zelma played piano with a small orchestra that played for local barn dances. Read More	ZELMA LENORA (MYERS) COVERT Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, June 15, 1995 Zelma Lenora Covert was born October 23, 1911 in Lanesboro, Iowa to Charley J. and Justina A. Myers. Her twin sister Velma was born 20 minutes ahead of her. Zelma died Wednesday, June 7, 1995 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver. Zelma and her family moved to the western Nebraska and eastern Colorado area in 1927. Zelma played piano with a small orchestra that played for local barn dances. It was here that she met Wayne Covert. They were married March 3, 1930 in Atwood, Kansas. To this union was born one child, Kenneth Wayne. Wayne and Zelma purchased a farm in Lamar, Nebraska in the early 1930s. They lived on the farm until Wayne's death in April 1975. After Wayne's death, Zelma moved to Holyoke where she lived for 10 years. She moved to Wheat Ridge in 1985. Three months ago she moved to a care center to receive physical therapy. Zelma took great interest in politics. She loved to travel and enjoyed sports. She was always kind and enjoyed life. Preceding her in death were her parents Charley and Justina Myers, husband Wayne, son Kenneth and twin sister Velma. Survivors include granddaughter Kathy Covert of Virginia; sisters Marie Sanders and husband Emmett and Merna McDaniel of Wheat Ridge and Esther Leibbrandt and husband George of Holyoke; four nieces including Vona Maine of Greeley; three nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Services were Monday, June 12, 1995 at the Schmidt-Baucke Mortuary Chapel in Holyoke with Pastor Jim Crist officiating.
