Zelma was born May 5, 1927, near Richmond, Iowa, to Bryan and Esther (Chez) Nicholson. She graduated from Keota High School in 1946 and worked briefly in Cedar Rapids. On August 12, 1946, Zelma married her only love, LeRoy "Bill" Sieren at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township, after he returned from the Navy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bill in 2010; son: Steven; two granddaughters: Kimberly and Shelby Nelson; son-in-law: Donald Black; sister: Margaret Fiala and brother-in-law: Joe Fiala.
