BRINGHAM LAID TO REST The community in which she lived was indeed saddened when the news became prevalent last Thursday that Mrs. Willis Bringham had passed away on Wednesday night. While she had not been well for some time, yet she was one of those untireless workers ever finding time above her home cares to do those little things in life which make for so much. She was a loving wife and mother ever unselfish with those with whom she came in contact making her first thought their pleasure; such was the noble life called from its earthly sojourn. Zelpha Ann Noland was born in Dallas county, Iowa, June 23, 1872, where she lived with her parents until she went to make a home of her own. She was married to Willis Bringham, December 24, 1890. In the spring of 1891 she came with her husband to Jackson county, Minnesota, where she lived most of the time until her death. From 1898 to 1901 she resided with her family in Spirit Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Bringham were blessed with five children, two daughters, Mrs. John Van Behren of Jackson county, Mrs. Ralph Stevens of Estherville; three sons, Loren, who has been in the service for two years, Russell and Claude, who are at home with the father. Mrs. Bringham had not been in good health for nearly a year. On July 16 last she submitted to an operation from which she never seemed to rally, not having been able to do much of her house work since. Her daughter remained with her during the year. On the previous Saturday she fell breaking her arm and thigh. She was taken to the hospital in Spencer on Tuesday for treatment and passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 1919. Besides, those in the immediate home corcle she leaves her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Noland of Spirit Lake, Edwin B. Noland of Cyphers, Minnesota, John Noland of Wheeler, Wisconsin; Frank Noland of Albert Lee Minnesota; Joseph Noland of Lakefield; Chas. Noland of Lakefield; Fred Noland, Mrs. Fred Tyre, Mrs. Lillian Jewett of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Dorsey Phyles of Tacoma, Washington, besides five grand children. Early in life Mrs. Bringham joined the Christian church, later joining the Methodist church of which she was a member at the time of her death. Mrs. Bringham was active in all affairs of the community. District head of the Red Cross and was responsive to all needs of the hour.
