BERT KANN Mrs. Bert Kann, 72, a resident of South Brooklyn for many years, died last Thursday in the Plaine Crest nursing home at Belle Plaine where she had been admitted the previous Sunday. Mrs. Kann had been in poor health for several years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. C.W. In charge of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Owen Wenger and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Van Renterghem. Zeta Blanche, daughter of Nathaniel and Ida Rhinehart, was born Dec. 13, 1891, at Atlantic and died Sept. 17, 1964, at Belle Plaine. She lived in the Atlantic community before coming to Brooklyn. At an early age she became a member of the Christian church. In 1917 she was married to Charlie Newton and three children were born to the couple. They are Mrs. Fred (Helen) Kubu of Victor, Harold Newton of Brooklyn and Mrs. Adrian (Nellie) Sams of Montezuma. In 1943 she was married to Bert Kann. With the exception of a few years in Missouri, she had made her home here for many years. In addition to her three children she leaves her husband; five grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Rhinehart of Atlantic, three sisters, Mrs. Clair (Lela) Kimball of Brayton, Mrs. Walter (Elna) Inhofe of Anita and Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Steffen of Atlantic.
