Description	:	Zeta Lucretia Hubbard was the second child born to Orrin Hubbard (1853-1890) and Harriet Lucretia Bates (1856-1903). She had 4 siblings: Vera Hubbard (1877-?) Hubbard Infant (1882) Merle Harriet Hubbard (1887-1968) Jay Orrin Hubbard (1889-1980) Zeta’s father Orrin lost his life in 1890 due to the swift kick delivered by a horse. Her mother then married a young Jesse Spaulding Hanson 16 years her junior. Jesse showed an understanding beyond his years. The children from that point on in the Federal Census are shown with the last name Hanson. Jesse and Hattie would have 3 children: Clifford Benjamin Hanson (1893-1961) Lois Hanson (1896-1896) Dorothy Eleanor Hanson (1897-1979) In the fall of 1903 her mother Hattie died from Pernicious Anemia leaving Jesse a young widower with 6 living children to attend to. On 23 July 1906 Jesse married Zeta in St. Paul Ramsey, Minnesota. This family had been extremely close and Zeta was closer to Jesse in age and it just made sense. Zeta and Jesse would have 3 children together: Muriel Harriet Hanson (1908-1987) Marjorie Verna Hanson (1913-1980) Roger Jesse Hanson (1916-1979) Jesse and Zeta had a loving family, raising them on the beautiful shores of Clear Lake Iowa. Their blended family can be seen through the years in pictures laughing, smiling. The stories leave a rich view of life in Clear Lake. Zeta loved her babies. All of them. In 1911 Jesse lost his leg to an automobile accident and their son Clifford came home with his new bride Osa. Zeta and Osa became the best of friends and Zeta would go to El Paso Texas to help care for Osa and the children who was losing her battle with TB. In El Paso, Zeta would also lose her life even before Osa. She died from Spinal Stenosis due to Pernicious Anemia. Jesse died just before his 50th Birthday in 1921 and Zeta in 1925. Their 3 minor children were then adopted by Jesse’s unmarried sister Eleanor in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She raised them and educated them. Putting all 3 through the University of Pittsburgh. Zeta was sent to her final resting place on the 9th of April 1925, Clear Lake Iowa next to Jesse.
