Funeral services were conducted at Orchard last Friday. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Rex Risinger, Harold Butterfield, Gordon Butterfield, Gerald Ickler, Eddie Bright and Albert Boelter. Butterfield was born at Walker, Ia., on Oct. 8, 1877. He came to Knox County at the age of one year and resided here the rest of his lifetime. Zim, as he was most commonly known, was an agent and adjuster for the State Farmers Insurance Co., of Omaha for 30 years besides being a successful farmer and rancher. In 1950 Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on the farm they purchased the day following their marriage, and on which they continued to live until his death. He is survived by his widow, Josephine, of Venus; his son, Elven A. of Neligh and daughter, Mrs. Frank Reed of Lincoln. A son Forrest, died in infancy. He is also survived by five sisters and four brothers, Ernest, Lloyd and Mrs. Reed Risinger, all of Venus, Mrs. Hattie Boelter of Walnut, Mrs. Flora Bright of Norfolk, Arthur of Omaha, Mrs. Fred Ickler of Orchard; Mrs. Clark Edson of Burlington, Wash., and George of California.
