Catherine Fouts was listed as age 38 on the 1865 LeRoy, Coffey, Kansas census. She was listed with William McMahon, age 66, born in Virginia. Also listed were M. E. Fouts, a girl age 18 / L. J. Fouts, a girl age 16 / William H. Fouts, age 12 / M. M. Fouts, a girl age 8 / & D. A. Fouts, a girl age 5. Zimri enlisted in Co. E, 11th Kansas Cavalry in the fall of 1862. He is listed in Vol. XVIII of the Civil War Roll of Honor with a death date of May 1, 1863. His burial is listed in Souder's Graveyard near LeRoy, Coffey County, Kansas. I could find no record of this graveyard and I could find no record of a military headstone. Catherine Fouts received a Civil War widow's pension 12 June 1863 and there is also a pension record for the minor children of Zimri N.
