Mrs. Olson died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Westview Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Zell to Louie and Mary Fryrear. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1939. She married "Ole" Orren D. Olson July 15, 1940. They became parents of two daughters: Joan and Jean. Zona was totally devoted to her family and home. The "empty nest" years brought her to work for Wells Fargo Bank in Aberdeen. Later she was focused on caregiving for Ole until his death in 1993 after a prolonged illness. Zona's many faithful friends in Aberdeen kept her busy with Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and "fun times." Later she moved to Minnesota to be nearer to Leon and Joan. By 2002 they had made their home in Sheridan, Wyo., with Zona living at Westview Health Care Center, an assisted living facility. She enjoyed the family gatherings, birthday parties and holidays in Sheridan until recently, when the effects of Parkinson's disease had progressed. Survivors include her daughter: Jean (Gerry) Sumption and granddaughter, Kelli (Bret) Eastman, Tucson, Ariz.; her daughter: Joan (Leon) Eliason and grandchildren, Steve (Kim) Eliason, Susie (Dan) Burgess, Kari Eliason, Mary (Aaron) Linden, and Peter (Colette) Eliason, all of Sheridan, Wyo., and Mother Mary Elizabeth, O.C.D., Denmark, Wis.; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ole, her parents and one sister: Dona Dulany. Redfield Press Jun 5, 2008
