Description : Located on North 10th St., Reading, Pa., between Walnut and Elm St. It was decorated each year following the Civil War for a black veterans buried there. Burials there became so overcrowded that some graves were buried four in depth. The cemetery eventually was covered over for church expansion. As early as 1871 applications were made to Charles Evans to allow colored burials there. Approval unknown. Created by N.D. Scheidt
