Description : Reverend Alexander Edmiston was a leader in the United Brethren congregation at Julian when it was founded in the fall of 1869. He died in 1877, leaving his farm to Mary Tolbert with instructions to build a church nearby, but his directive was never carried out. He was buried on his land and a marble headstone was set up over the grave. The stone has since fallen.
