Description : The castle is one of the most important buildings in the municipality of Schieren. Parts of the castle date back to the 13th century. Built by Gaspard-Florent de Breiderbach, the building was owned for years by the de Blochhausen family, including former Luxembourg prime minister Baron Félix de Blochhausen. He was born at the castle in March 1834 and died there in November 1915. In the Second World War, the castle was used as a base for US troops.
