Description	:	The Cathedral Church of St Mary of the Assumption (St Mary's Cathedral) is the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Aberdeen. The Church was designed by Alexander Ellis and opened in December 1860. The Church was elevated to a Cathedral with the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy in Scotland in 1878.
