Description : The first church on the site of the current cathedral was dedicated to St. Peter and mentioned in 1208. Between 1328 and 1378, a new church was built under the direction of the master builder Wiland based on St. Elizabeth's in Wrocław. The church was consecrated in 1348 and received St. Paul as its second patron. In 1522, Duke Frederick II of Liegnitz embraced the Reformation and the church building was converted to Protestant worship.
