In 1990 the territory of the village became part of the Northern Administrative District of Moscow and the Cherkizovskoye Nothern cemetery was added to the list of Moscow cemeteries. Since 1995 the cemetery has a permanent archive of burials. In 1996 Cherkizovskoye cemetery became part of the Khimki city area. Since 2008 the cemetery is considered closed. Currently only burials to the existing family plots are allowed at the Cherkizovskoye Northern cemetery.
