Description	:	Confederate Cemetery #1 is the oldest of two cemeteries (#1 & #2) maintained by Confederate Memorial Park (site of Alabama's only Old Soldier's Home) and is located slightly north of their property. Burials in this cemetery spanned 1902 to 1911. At that time, burials from the home were handled by a local church (Old Canaan) and buried there across the street from their chapel until this cemetery filled, and Confederate Cemetery #2 was opened beside the Old Soldier's Home in 1911.
