Description : The Golconda Cemetery came into use by 1883 and holds the remains of approximately 120 people. There have been only two burials here since 1955. Today it is in rather poor condition. Most of the original markers were made of wood and are now either missing or completely illegible. Some renovation work was done in 1992 by Hazel Christison and Edna Bain, former residents of Golconda. They placed white wooden crosses on most/all of the unmarked graves and were able to determine who was buried in some of those plots. Their efforts are gratefully acknowledged.
