Description : This is the second of Hamilton's two original burying grounds. This cemetery was located in Hamilton's west side once known as Rossville before becoming incorporated into the City of Hamilton. Burials that were originally interred here have been removed to Greenwood Cemetery. This early burial site is now Sutherland Park Playground. Early pioneer families such as the Sutherland, Millikin and Falconer families were first buried here. The Park was named for John Sutherland who was a proprietor and one of Hamilton's earliest settlers.
