Description	:	This cemetery is located on what at one time was the farm/plantation of John (Jack) Rose. He came from North Carolina around 1830 following the turpentine and or naval stores business. The farm covered about 1000 acres off of today's Clemson Road, near Pontiac, SC. It eventually became the property of Clemson Experimental Station. He came from North Carolina around 1830 following the turpentine and or naval stores business. The farm covered about 1000 acres off of today's Clemson Road, near Pontiac, SC. It eventually became the property of Clemson Experimental Station. Most of the land is not developed, however, the cemetery still exists in the woods. There are numerous unmarked graves. Most of what can be seen now are only depressions in the ground. Prior to the Civil War, a mill was located on the property where lumber was sawed, corn was ground, and cotton was ginned. The mill was burned by General W.T. Sherman's soldiers in February 1865.
