| Description | : | On the 21st of January 1861, Five lives were lost at "Maungamana" (Mangamaunu) when five men fell out from a small launch they were maning, heading for the Waipapa River from Kaikoura. The bodies were buried by George Ruck Keene abreast to where the bodies were recovered from. The location of these graves in unknown at this time. |
