| Description | : | The Mausoleum Next to the Synagogue is a replica of Rachel's Tomb, on the road to Bethlehem, for which Lady Montefiore had organized the repair for in 1839. The architect David Mocatta was commissioned by Sir Moses to build this mausoleum for his childless wife who predeceased him. The Montefiores are laid to rest side by side in brick vaults, covered by identical chest tombs of Aberdeen marble.
