Description : Henry Moody was a pioneer of the Pleasantville area (see page 674 of "History of Greene and Sullivan Counties"), possibly from N. Carolina, although there is no proof of his family or origin. He married Nancy Adaline Bedwell, daughter of John Bedwell and Permelia March; granddaughter of Robert Thomas Bedwell and Elender Black. In 1837 he received a certificate for 40 acres in Section 26 of Jefferson Township.
