| Description | : | It all began in 1871, not at Mountain View Cemetery but down the road at Trinity Lutheran Church, about a half mile away. A Presbyterian minister was called in to perform a funeral service at the Trinity Church. During the service the minister made several inappropriate comments against Lutheran doctrine. This caused the congregation to adopt a resolution to admit only Lutheran preachers to its pulpit. Some members disagreed with the resolution and left to form a new church up on the hill.
