Description : "The second cemetery was a gift to the town in 1768; the donation being made by Deacon Matthew Norton, "in consideration of the love, good will and regard that he hath toward the public worship of almighty God." It was an acre in extent, and was situated on Pease Point Way, adjoining the lot on which the then new meeting house was being erected. It has since been enlarged by subsequent acquisitions.
