| Description | : | In 1799, the Lazaretto Quarantine Station was established in response to the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1793. The complex included a large main building, several outbuildings, and a burial ground. Those buried there included ill passengers and crew of ships arriving at the Port of Philadelphia, including several freed slaves brought over on the U.S.S. Ganges in 1800.
